Atlantic salmon and rainbow trout

In connection with the production of Atlantic salmon and rainbow trout, we are involved in a number of projects aimed at resolving issues related to the smolt, post-smolt and broodstock phases.  Our areas of focus include smoltification, gill disease and related problems, and CMS. PHARMAQ Analytiq also participates as an enterprise partner at CtrlAQUA, which is one of the Norwegian Centres for Research-based Innovation (SFI). The aim of the centre is to lay the foundation for the development of closed aquaculture systems. Greater control of the production process will make it possible to mitigate problems linked to mortality and salmon lice, as well as reduce the production period for farmed salmon.

New and specific amoebic gill disease (AGD) analysis

PHARMAQ Analytiq is now able to offer a recently developed and specific analysis for Paramoeba perurans, the protozoan that causes AGD. Significantly increased levels of sensitivity mean that the protozoan can be identified several weeks earlier than is possible using traditional analyses. This provides facility operators and fish health service providers with the valuable time needed to obtain better insights into the AGD situation and coordinate treatment, as appropriate.

Gill disease in salmon and trout

PHARMAQ Analytiq is working actively to obtain knowledge about the various pathogens that cause gill problems in farmed salmon.
